Having recently gotten a bit tired of CSX's blue and yellow noses, I decided to go for the black horses. After a long time I visited the Georgian section of the Norfolk Southern Piedmont Division, Greenville District, again. The result were some nice trains caught at places between Buford Ga and Cornelia Ga, some 40 miles apart. Chasing trains here is almost impossible. They run at high speeds (50-60 mph) and even connecting towns by using the interstate, I didn't succeed to see more than the tail of the train after arrival. So I did it statically, waiting at nice locations such as Gainesville Ga, Cornelia Ga, and Lula Ga, for the trains to come... Engines of the trains were: Intermodal 1: NS #9259 (C40-9W [NS: D9-40CW]), #8835 (C40-9 [NS: D9-40C]) Hoppers: NS #9918 (C40-9W [NS: D9-40CW]), #8781 (C40-9 [NS: D9-40C]), #9585 (C40-9W [NS: D9-40CW]), #9515 (C44-9W [NS: D9-44CW]) Mixed auto/intermodal: UP #8968 (SD70AH), NS #8937 (C44-9W [NS: D9-44CW]) Intermodal 2: NS #2596 (SD70M), #8364 (C40-8W [NS: D8-40CW]; ex-CR #6135) Intermodal 3: NS #8938 (C40-9W [NS: D9-40CW]), #1086 (SD70ACe) [© 2015 MBMARS Productions.
