Scenes (PRESUMABLY) animated by Donald Herald "Don" Williams during his stay at DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. After an almost eight-year hiatus from the industry, Williams returned to animation to work for various TV/commercial outlets such as Hanna-Barbera. When DePatie-Freleng opened up shop in 1963, Don Williams was one of the earliest hires to the studio. Williams became regarded as one of the top animators at DFE along with Manny Gould, Warren Batchelder and Manny Perez. Don Williams would stay at the studio until his death in 1980, same time as when DFE was entering transformation into Marvel Productions. Williams is one of the rare few animators at the studio who worked on the first (The Pink Phink, 1964) and final Pink Panther theatrical short (Supermarket Pink, 1980). Don Williams’ animation has a wild energy about it. Williams got the most he could out of the more limited budgets of the studio with fast-paced animation where his characters act within perspective, incorporate smears and secondary action. Occasionally, Williams utilizes his famous eye multiples used heavily from his Warner Bros days. While his characters could occasionally get off-model or overly streamlined, this more than likely allowed him to get as much wild cartoonish animation as he could.
