Recently, the same audience recording source as this is on the market as “Berlin, Germany on December 13, 1982”. However, from the band members and the performance, "December, 1980 Tokyo Roppongi Pit Inn" seems to be correct. "Steps Ahead" was introduced in Japan as "Steps" when they first came to Japan in December 1980. In addition, they recorded a studio album from December 8th and 10th, appeared at Roppongi Pit-Inn from December 9th and 12th to 16th, and recorded live there from 14th to 16th. Initially, the live album "Smokin' In The Pit" was released only in Japan on February 25, 1981, and the studio album "Step By Step" was released on June 25, 1981. In the United States, it has been reissued with bonus tracks on Mike Mainieri's NYC label, but the recording date is incorrect as 1979, so be careful.
