2 Dalit girls found dead in a field in Unnao | Dalits in India

The maltreatment of Dalits in India is known to everyone all over the world. There are many incidents in India where Dalit men have been beaten or killed and women have been raped just because of their caste. A similar incident took place in the Indian state of Unao where three minor girls were found almost dead in the fields in the evening by the villagers when they did not return after they left their house to bring fodder for the cattle. They were immediately rushed to a hospital where two of them were declared dead. The other minor girl is now battling for life at the Unnao civil hospital. The brother of the girls claimed that their hands and feet were tied, but the Unnao police is not accepting this statement. The bodies were sent for postmortem and investigators have found poisonous substances in the autopsy. However, it not clear yet what kind of poison led to the death of the two girls. The samples of the poisonous substance are being sent for further examination. This case may be as tangled as the previous case and an attempt is being made to hide the facts. Let’s see that whether these grieved Dalit women will able to enjoy some justice or not this time in the largest secular state of the world?
