ADEO – Space Heritage The leading deorbit dragsail solution for your spacecraft: efficient, lightweight, small, in-orbit verified. ADEO (Atmospheric Deorbit Sail Module) is the name for an entire product family of dragsails for satellites from the German aerospace company HPS, Munich. ADEO accelerates the disposal of satellites from Low/Medium Earth Orbit (LEO/MEO) to a period of less than five years (current common regulation) and thus fulfils the basic condition for the satellite to receive approval for launch into space in the first place. The deorbit-sail is scalable and available in five variants for spacecraft from 1 kg up to 1,500 kg: ADEO-Pico, -Nano, -Cube, -Medium, -Large. The movie shows production and test-scenes, as well as ADEO’s space heritage: Based on intensive development efforts since 2014, HPS has meanwhile successfully completed a series of missions firmly establishing the ADEO module at the top of the automatic passive deorbit systems on a qualification level as high as TRL 9: In 2018, launch on a Rocket Lab Electron rocket kick stage. 2021, launch with a Transporter-2 Mission of SpaceX, ADEO integrated in the ION-003 spacecraft carrier of the Italian launch service provider D-Orbit. The deorbit period took place in only 24 months from sail deployment in 504 km in 12/2022 until full burn in 12/2024 at an altitude of 120 km.
