Standard mortar may be used to overcome any excessive variation in foundation levels. If you’re not an experienced mason, a mortar leveling kit makes it easy to establish a perfectly level surface of mortar. Just line up the two levelers with a laser and screed mortar between them. Ensure that the base course is level horizontally and along the length and width of each block, and that there are no steps between each block. Step 2: Once the base course is leveled, apply at least two beads of adhesive on top of the outermost and innermost walls of each block. The interlocking sides of the blocks eliminate the need for vertical adhesive. The working time of the adhesive is about 5 minutes, so you can glue and place several blocks at once for faster construction. Repeat until all courses have been laid.
