Short miles can pay more per mile but we never guarantee a specific rate per mile. This also depends on how much competition / loads there are in the area too on a daily basis. West Coast, FL and most southern states are even CHEAPER & SLOWER to move out of...... especially in the WINTER TIME. Driver must be able to clear 800+ miles directly non stop (except fuel / food stops)....if you cant handle (ALL NIGHT - NON STOP DRIVING) this job is not for you. 90% - 95% of Expedite freight requires ALL NIGHT DRIVING! If you're planning to purchase a new van...for this job to be worthwhile after all expenses, fuel, insurance repairs, tires, maintenance & your AWAY FROM family time. ..........and to make money at it in this slower economy...because things did slow down after my video posted! & market has changed! Marked slowed down & loads got cheaper as they always do in the winter time, you have to stay out on the road for 3 or more weeks at a time. Right now things are slower, and with the new President...well we don't know how things will be or what the trucking industry will be in the near future. No guarantee if or when there will be a crash. Its an INVESTMENT for an owner operator just like any business....without any guarantees of what's in store tomorrow. This job requires SACRIFISE .... its you being away from home & family. We work with high roof extended vans only, only 3 types of vans they are sprinter, ram promaster or Ford Transit t250 / T350. Vehicles loading floor space must be at least 144" long.... short vans are NOT qualified.  Just an FYI in case you are planning to make a new van / box truck purchase investment - Got to be prepared to stay out 3 weeks out at a time...or maybe even a month. Everyone is blessed differently in this industry. If you are just looking to get by & live in a major city / hot area with expedite freight then you can get away with maybe 2 weeks on the road at a time & might be driving through or close to home to stop by for a day or 2. But to make good $$ you have to stay out for 2+ weeks at a time. If its a sacrifice you are willing to make we welcome you...if not then I hope this warning helps you make the right decision.
