There are also an increasing number of creative, and darkly humorous, kill-sequences which challenge boundaries, but still maintain a tone that is more like Deadpool than typical DC fare — finding a line between shockingly violent and absurdist comedy that never loses its footing. The story follows Lobo as he accepts more and more absurd contracts — first, he hunts down the galaxy's most notorious criminal, then, he stumbles upon an intergalactic crisis that could potentially upset an entire sector of the universe. The supporting cast of characters are consistently terrified, exasperated, and at times actually entertained by Lobo's existence — creating a universe where Lobo arrives as a natural disaster, bringing no warning, nor mercy. Expect universal chaos that takes nothing seriously, Momoa giving a career-high level of physical comedy in a film that is covered in R-rated carnage, and a celebration of the type of characters who exist simply because sometimes stories require people who refuse to be anything else than exactly who they say they are.
