You can find the finished product in my Etsy shop soon! https://www.etsy.com/shop/NevillesHowler In this tutorial I'm showing you how you can make your own needle minder for embroidery or magnet using shrink plastic. I've used inkjet shrink plastic in this video, but if you use fine grid sandpaper (400) you can roughen up the surface and that should work in a printer too! A few extra pointers (also explained in the video): Do not print on the shiny side of the shrink plastic. The ink will not dry - at all - but should you want to try anyway or accidentally printed on the shiny side, you can easily wipe the ink off with a moist paper towel. Some people like to put their shrink plastic on a piece of aluminium foil before they put it in the oven but I have found that the shrink plastic takes over any wrinkles/cracks it's on so you end up with a rough surface. I put mine on a tile and once the shrinking process is done I put another tile on top to keep the plastic flat without surface issues. Once it's cooled down it's best to use some kind of varnish to set the colors, this will ensure a longer life for your shrink plastic object.
