The kids and I are visiting family in Klamath Falls for Thanksgiving and take the opportunity for a little excursion into northern California's Modoc National Forest. Come along as we discover solitary roads across open prairies and spot an assortment of interesting wildlife. Special thanks to both Colin and Lucie for helping capture photos and video footage. Thanks also to Lucie for producing some of the music in Garageband. And thanks to my dad for another fun Thanksgiving stay - and for the extra footage at the end of the video. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- How I air down: https://amzn.to/36tXeKY How I air up: https://amzn.to/2MQ1Pjl My Dr. Marten's boots: https://amzn.to/39mxaD5 I've been using these Dr. Marten's work boots as my "hiking boots" for a year now and have been super happy with them. I had my previous pair of Timberline boots for over 20 years and had worn the soles down to nothing before finally breaking down and getting a new pair. I originally wanted to get the same Timberlines I'd had before, but the reviews on Amazon very consistently indicated that the build quality had gone down in recent years. These Doc Martens are not technically hiking boots, and being steel-toed, they're a bit on the heavy side, but they're fully waterproof, the sole is very grippy, and they are more comfortable and better cushioned than my old TImberlines. I was initially wary of getting a work boot instead of a hiker but I am really glad I took a chance on these. I don't do a ton of hiking anyway so the weight isn't a huge issue, I mostly just needed warm, sturdy, comfortable waterproof shoes, and these have delivered superbly.
