Welcome to my Saucony Endorphin Elite review! I received the shoes the day after they were announced, but I wanted a week and a bit to do the review because I don't like views on my videos, so I like to report on things way after they were announced. 🤦 \\details Price - $275/£280 (Vaporfly 2 MSRP £230, Adizero Pro 3 MSRP £220, Endorphin Pro 3 £210, Metaspeed Edge+ £225) Availability – The shoes were announced in January 2023 and will be available to buy from February 2023. Weight - 8.0 oz./227 grams (men's US 11/UK 10) Drop – 8mm (40mm heel/32mm forefoot), according to the website, I saw social posts saying that the max stack height under the heel was actually 39.5mm. These things change anyway, depending on the size of the shoes. \\ what's the Saucony Endorphin Elite? The Endorphin Elite is a super shoe, a high-stack long-distance running shoe from US-based sports manufacturer Saucony. It replaces the Endorphin Pro at the top of the Saucony food chain, similar to how the Nike Alphafly replaced the Vaporfly a few years ago. This doesn't mean you shouldn't consider the Endorphin Pro anymore, the same way many people still run in the Vaporfly despite the availability of the Alphafly. \\4 things I like Upper is so comfortable – It's like a sandal. It's lightweight, full of holes, but fits the foot perfectly. No pressure on the midsection, the heels, or the forefoot. It's well-ventilated, too, and putting on the shoes is a breeze. Love it. Stability – the Endorphin Elite is one of the (if not the) most stable super shoes I tried. It has a wide heel and toebox, and despite the stack height, the PWRRUN HG foam is very balanced. Soft foam – PWRRUN HG foam feels bouncy with excellent cushioning. There is an inherent stiffness due to the plate, but the foam feels super soft under the heels and bouncy in general. The rocker could have been extended a bit more in the midsection, so it's not so flat, but then the shoes wouldn't have been so stable. You win some, you lose some, eh? Saucony tries – I appreciate the perseverance of the brand. Saucony is an excellent manufacturer, and I like they don't seem to give up the fight against Nike, Adidas and the lot. To be successful nowadays means you have to be able to produce a super shoe that holds up against the fierce competition – let's hope we'll see the Endorphin Elite on podiums in 2023. \\2 things I don't Not too competitively priced – the Endorphin Elite is the most expensive super shoe, a big thing in a market full of expensive footwear. The $275/£270 price tag of the Nike Alphafly 2 made my eyes water, and the Saucony is more costly than that in the UK. Not sure if the price is justified. Let's hope there will be offers later in the year, so mere mortals might be able to afford the shoes. Energy return isn't quite there – I wouldn't mind the price if the shoes were the best in their class, but they aren't, and that's because of the energy return. The PWRRUN HG is amazing, and I'm sure many runners will run extraordinary times in the Endorphin Elite, but my heart was working harder when I ran in the shoes, meaning my muscles were working harder to keep up the pace. Quite frankly, I don't feel as fast in the shoes as I feel in the Nike Alphafly or the Puma Fast-R Nitro Elite. \\should you buy the Saucony Endorphin Elite?
