#composition #visualmusic #audiovisual Hi, This video is a walk through a set I did while my second live stream. Going from pattern to pattern, I looked into the Mazes and shaped the modules. We stream from the Ectoplastic Lab in Halle (Germany). On this channel we share our knowledge and experiences about Mazetools, make music and tutorials, answer questions and talk about the development (english & german). Mazetools is about exploring sound in new ways, making music, seeing, moving and touching it, trying things within the process. Subscribe to our channel to keep in touch and have a good time! @mazetools About Mazetools Mazetools opens up a unique approach to music and creativity. It's about exploring sounds in a new way, experiencing them visually, changing them through gestures, coming across something in the process, a sound, a melody, a groove, a song... Mazetools are unique in their operation and complex in their own way. For some it's a refreshing change, for others it's too crazy, for some it's about a nice entry into the world of sound. There are currently two Mazetools: Mutant and Soniface. Mutant is comparable to a loop machine and works with a defined number of instruments. It produces results quickly, but thanks to the Hypercube it offers the possibility to change everything with a swipe and to hear sounds that always surprise us. Soniface, on the other hand, is more modular when it comes to adding instruments. The settings of the synth, sampler and rhythm modules go into great detail. An important feature is the Gridsynth, an area of lines that correspond to a scale over several octaves. Automation plays a major role in Soniface: all instruments and their controllers can be controlled via LFOs, touch and camera-based body tracking. About Ectoplastic We are Stephan and Jakob, we have known each other and made music for more than 20 years. When we were 13, we exchanged our first beat loops on floppy disks and wrote raps on them. Today we are still fascinated by sound, still make music and combine this with development, audiovisual sets & performances, workshops and collaborations. You can find more info on our website. https://www.ectoplastic.com/ With this background, we share a lot of practical experience in the field of electronic music beyond genre boundaries. We deal with generative sound & visuals and the combination with new forms of interaction such as body, hand and face tracking in the context of game & VR development. Our goal is to empower creativity, make musical expression inclusive and democratize the experience of making electronic music. We are in the process of developing new Mazetools. We invite you to join us. Every purchase supports our process, as well as every review, post and constructive feedback. Thank you and have a good time!
