The Sibincic Family Real Life Farmville in Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 We are a Filipino-Bosnian-Serb family based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a passionate advocate for a Healthy and Sustainable Living Lifestyle. A newly married couple, Slaven Sibincic (Dad-Bosnian Serb), Ivy Moñiza Sibincic (Mom-Filipina Boholana) with two beautiful baby girls, Sofija and Natalija. Ivy is a journalist by profession and left the corporate world to join the cruiseship culinary industry where she met Slaven. On one hand, Slaven is an agriculturist and his parents are veteran farmers. We are an eco-conscious family and we see organic gardening, farming, livestock raising, beekeeping, growing heirloom vegetables, native fruit trees and berries, and seed conservation as part of our sustainable lifestyle journey. For us, this has become especially important during this time of pandemic when food shortage is possible. We don't know what the future will bring and we believe that growing and raising your food is always a good idea. Agriculture will always be the biggest part of the survival of humanity. We always believed in “green living / sustainable living” and conserving. As a couple, both of us have a strong streak of individuality and an inclination to do things just a little bit differently than the rest of the world. Our goal is to educate and inspire people to live happier, healthier, and more sustainable lives. We enjoy sharing our journey, our family life is our message to the world. We have documented our personal family life to be an example of positive transformation and with the hope to inspire other families to positively change their lives by living sustainably. We want to show that starting in our household, we can adapt to act locally while rippling out globally. Every action, big or small, we all have the power to make an impact and inspire others and we start it within our own family. Also, we are not growing only because of sustainability but because this is what our family loves doing for many decades and from generation to generation. Farming is our passion. We grow a wide variety of native fruit trees, organic heirloom vegetables, nuts, berries, and annual crops for our all-year-round food supply that spread out over our property. We share our land with chickens, pigs, cows, and sheep. Our animals provide us meat, poultry, and dairy products and they are all fed organically. We also have dogs and cats that are part of our growing family. Slaven started beekeeping. We are living with thousands of honeybees, our garden pollinators, and we enjoy healthy products from our bees. Most people call our home the 'REAL LIFE FARMVILLE'. It is because we grow, raise and produce all the food we consume at home and almost everything is homemade. We go to the supermarket for toiletries and if only the need arises. FarmVille is the top famous, agriculture-simulation social network game. Its gameplay involves various aspects of farmland management, such as plowing land, planting, growing, and harvesting crops, harvesting trees, and raising livestock. We live simply and traditionally in the village. We live in a four-season European country, where weather conditions are changing from time to time. But with hard work, passion and dedication, we manage to grow enough food each year to get us through the entire year before the next harvest comes around. The biggest reward of growing and producing our food is having top-notch food right in our yard so we don't have to rely on the grocery stores. We have a huge organic garden at home and a greenhouse. We produce so much that we can also share with other family and friends. The last year 2020, our home was awarded as 'THE BEST ORGANISED COUNTRY HOME / VILLAGE HOME IN OUR MUNICIPALITY'. This is a special category and it’s the first time they included this category for our Municipal’s yearly yard recognition contest. We are honored to be the first to win this title. Also, we thank the administration of the Municipality of Prnjavor for the chance to proudly show our household and share our passion for a sustainable way of life. Our efforts towards our advocacy of promoting a sustainable life have gained the attention of the media here in Bosnia and neighboring countries. We got featured in national TV networks, magazines, newspapers, and online portals. It also started when Daddy Slaven came to the Philippines for love and the media followed our love story until Mommy Ivy arrived here in Bosnia. Media covered how Mommy Ivy adapted and promoted the hospitality, unique culture, and traditions of the Balkans to the Filipino people, and at the same time also promoting her Filipino culture in Bosnia (introducing Asian vegetables and Filipino cuisines to the locals).
