The castle belonged to a Russian businessman from a Moscow merchant dynasty until 1917. The orphanage was located in the manor until 1929. Then for four years the Manor House was occupied by the Horse Breeding Institute, and until 1941 - by the Secondary School. In 1941-1942, the estate was a hospital, and then again the Institute of Horse Breeding and the Institute of Forestry. Since 1960, the manor houses a branch of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Academy of Sciences. In the 1970s, its new building was built next to the castle.
