After years of living full-time in our Mercedes Sprinter, we’ve officially left our tiny home on wheels at the port to be shipped back to the USA. We are officially "homeless" travelers heading to Istanbul, Turkey—and the transition is proving to be our toughest challenge yet. Traveling with two cats is already a logistical puzzle, but life decided to throw us a major curveball: Curt has a severely injured ankle. He can’t put any weight on it, leaving Snow to handle the heavy lifting, the luggage, and two stressed-out kitties. In this episode: Final Packing: Saying goodbye to the van life lifestyle for now and prepping for a massive international flight. The Highs: A huge shoutout to the Johannesburg airport crew! The wheelchair service worked like clockwork, and without them, Snow never would have gotten us all on that plane. The Lows: G-Money is not a fan of flying, and the stress levels are hitting an all-time high. The Nightmare in Istanbul: We landed at one of the world’s largest airports only to face a total service breakdown. Despite requested assistance, Turkish Airlines ground crew refused us a wheelchair. Watching Curt forced to walk miles on a badly injured ankle was heartbreaking and infuriating. By the time we hit the taxi stand, Curt’s ankle was pounding and had doubled in size. Our first morning in Istanbul wasn’t spent sightseeing—it was spent rushing to an emergency orthopedic appointment. Is the ankle broken? Will this ruin our time in Turkey?
