I kicked off my 2025 hiking season with Poo Poo Point. This is a decent early-season hike, and was surprisingly not as busy as expected for mid-day on a Friday. The trailhead has a small gravel parking lot but is located immediately off the street. I decided to park at the Issaquah Community Center located about half a mile down the road, which added a little over 1 mile to my total hiking distance. The parking convenience was well worth the extra distance. As for the hike itself, the trail is in very good condition. There appeared to be some evidence of the November 2024 windstorm, but all fallen trees had been cut up and moved from the trail. The weather and views were pretty good today -- hazy, but good enough to still make out Mt. Baker to the north. I did not see any hang gliders, but I'm sure there will be more as the season progresses. I am also experimenting with including light music in the background of my videos this year, while still highlighting the sound of nature when appropriate. Any feedback is welcome.
