Acacia Nursing and Dementia Care Home has been forced into special measures by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection during which it was noted that "people were not safe living at the care home.The recent emergency inspection was unannounced, after the CQC received concerns from both relatives and healthcare professionals, and inspectors found serious issues with safety, cleanliness and record-keeping.Some residents were left at the risk of developing pressure ulcers after being kept in the same chair for long periods of time without the correct cushions, one complaining of a "burning sensation", while another resident, at a high risk of falls, was found to get around his room using furniture, according to inspectors.
