Kasane Teto (Japanese: 重音テト, pronounced [kasane teto]) is a virtual singer software created on the Japanese textboard 2channel for April Fools' Day 2008. Despite the fact that Teto was initially created as a joke, an actual voicebank was created for her using voice synthesis software UTAU, which allowed her to sing. Teto has been introduced as a "diva born from a hoax". Kasane Teto was also released as a voice model in 2021 for TALQu, a deep learning-based free speech software, in 2023 for Synthesizer V AI, a commercial singing voice synthesis software, and in 2025 for VOICEPEAK, a text-to-speech software. Utane Uta (唄音ウタ (うたねうた)), also known as Defoko (デフォ子 (でふぉこ)), is a preinstalled voicebank for the UTAU program. Uta Utane was the default and first vocal available for UTAU. Uta's voice was derived from the voice synthesis software AquesTalk. Because she is the default voicebank in the standard-issue UTAU installer, she is also known as Defoko. Yokune Ruko (欲よく音ねルコ) is a Japanese vocal synthesizer character created by Long Sleeper and was originally released for the UTAU voice synthesizer software in November 2008 and has received additional voicebanks for other vocal synthesizer softwares such as speaking voice models for TALQu, CoeFont CLOUD and COEIROINK, as well as numerous AI singing voice models for Diff-SVC, ENUNU, and DiffSinger.
