This pertains to the CMOS battery in the NUC6i5SYH. May apply to other units as well if Intel did a non-standard polarity on their CMOS batteries. Since it is reverse from what most laptops use when plugged in it will just short out the battery. First you want to compare the original to the replacement battery. If you want to be extra certain you can check the pins on the header and see which one goes to ground. With something pointy you can pry on the locking tabs for the connector to release the pins. Then just reinsert them in the correct orientation. Confirmed by MrPlow887 the NUC7i3BNK also has this issue. Confirmed by gabrielgaspar3744 the NUC6CAYH also has this issue. Confirmed by testdummycrash9258 the NUC6i5syk (case) with an NUC6i5syb (Board) also has this issue. Confirmed by theronkinator the NUC6CAYS also has this issue. Confirmed by gmcoburn the NUC5CPY also has this issue. Confirmed by davidtownson1 the ASRock B560m-ITX motherboard also has this issue.
