I - (youtuber & journalist) took ANOTHER/SECOND trip to Algeria, which I am so delighted to share with you in this video. I fell in love with this beautiful country again and am so excited to show you a side of Algeria that is often unseen. Welcome to beautiful, amazing Algeria, the tenth-largest country in the world, the world's largest Arab country, and the biggest country in Africa. Algeria shares a border with Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, the Western Saharan territory, Mauritania, Mali and Niger and it is located by gorgeous Mediterranean Sea. From “la Grand Poste” to “Notre Dame d’Afrique”, the capital of Algeria Algiers has as much to offer as the fascinating country it is located in. From this beautiful catholic church you have an amazing view over the city of Algiers and the ocean - especially on clear days. But this isn’t the only place in Algeria with stunning ocean views. Tipaza approximately one hour away from Algiers is also a great place where you can be on the water . It is a Berber-speaking city that is known for its ancient ruins. The province of Tipaza used to be a part of the Roman Empire and now it is a place that attracts many local and international tourists. Approximately 25.000 people live in the province of Tipiza and many people here don’t only speak the local Berber language but also French and Arabic. And now it is time to go back to Algiers. To the city center to be correct. Didouche mourad is a big shopping street in downtown Algiers. It is home to a lot of nice stores, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. As well as the university of Algiers. Welcome to the Casbah. The traditional neighbourhood of Algiers. There are the remains of the citadel, old mosques and Ottoman-style palaces as well as the remains of a traditional urban structure associated with a deep-rooted sense of community which is why it was proclaimed World Cultural Heritage site in 1992. The Casbah is full of cute little streets, art and delicious food. Speaking of eating - traditional Algerian food is sooo delicious, so lets keep eating and seeing what else we can find, maybe at the market. Another day, another beautiful sight. Welcome to the botanical garden of Algiers. Not too far from the botanical garden is the Matyrs monument - an iconic concrete monument honouring the Algerian war for independence. The monument was opened in 1982 on the 20th anniversary of Algeria's independence. It has the shape of three standing palm leaves. Underneath the monument is the "Eternal Flame” that burns all day every day in honour of fallen soldiers and Algeria’s struggle. It is a beautiful monument reminding us of everything is country has endured and overcame. From the past to the future. Today Algeria is one of the most modern places in Africa and home of the first subway. The subway here is super modern, safe and effective. The tickets are cheap and allow you to easily navigate through the city center. Merci beaucoup mes amours, je vous aime.
