Lent is the season of second chances. God is always willing to give humanity another chance. In the story of Noah after the great flood, God sends a rainbow to crease the sky as a sign of God's everlasting covenant of hope and love. Jesus embodies God's desire to give us another chance as he teaches us how to love and be loved. We are God's beloved and we are called to BE LOVE in the world. Lent offers us another chance to learn how to love again. This week, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood begin a Lenten Series called, “Finding Hope in the Broken Heart of God.” For the next six Tuesdays, a different missionary will be reflecting on how we find hope when the world seems to be falling apart.
