If this is your first time here, you can always find Kim Isaac's feedback ( Our RDI consultant) in the comments of any of the videos in our RDI playlist. My current goal is to work on spotlighting emotions, however today we ended up seeing samara's improvement in problem-solving. we have spent the past year working on using more declarative language and less imperative (directions) which allows her to stop and figure out what she is supposed to do. After a year of Relationship Development Intervention which has also resolved meltdowns, elopement and gaining eye contact (visual referencing) we are now seeing her solve problems without anger, disinterest, or frustration. RDI continues to amaze me with the immense progress she is showing. Video reflection questions For Kim Issac of www.autismwithexcellenc.com: Has Samara ever tried this activity before? She has been putting TP in the holder downstairs but we have never done this upstairs. She's also never had the toilet paper roll on top blocking her from putting the paper in the holder. What pattern did you establish? Hand it and put in Where did you insert moment/s of productive uncertainty within your pattern? I didn't do productive uncertainty but I waited for her to problem solve, and she asked me for help when/if she could not figure it out What do you feel was the best part of the engagement? When she couldn’t figure out how to get the roll in and she took the time to problem solve it, then again with getting the roll on the holder upstairs. When she couldn’t figure it out she asked for help. She didn’t get upset or give up and walk off like she would have in the past. She also voluntarily put her Xbox controller down and walked away in the middle of a game to do this with me ;) What adjustments would you make to your guiding in your next engagement based on the information you gained from this guided engagement? none What questions do you have for me? none Instagram / guidingautism Facebook- / guiding-autism-1865625243507539 Twitter- / samaratalks Twitter- / guidingautism https://www.mysimplelifearizona.com (homeschooling, autism and minimalism) Vlogs I follow: JCTV Family Vlog Kevin Chapman Fathering Autism Will I Ever Sleep? Our model allows for neuro-cognitive changes to occur over time that provide the individual with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges on their own. By developing this capacity for dynamic thinking, we open the door to the possibility of a greater quality of life that includes: reciprocal communication, genuine friendships, confident, independent living, prolonged relationships and meaningful employment" Music: https://www.bensound.com
