MJF Summer Jazz Camp 2022

After two years of virtual summer jazz camp, it was wonderful to be together at the beautiful Stevenson School campus in Pebble Beach. Students from middle school through high school immersed themselves into the music of jazz with instruction from our highly qualified camp faculty. They studied and performed with world‐renowned jazz artists including the 2022 Monterey Jazz Festival Artist-In-Residence, Christian Sands, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra Director, Gerald Clayton and our Next Generation Women in Jazz Director, Katie Thiroux. The camp also provided the opportunity to deepen friendships, build self-confidence; and strengthen values like mutual respect and teamwork. In 2023, MJF Summer Jazz Camp will return to Stevenson Monday, June 26 - Friday, June 30 with great faculty, Including the 2023 MJF Artist-in-Residence, Lakecia Benjamin, and will be loaded with lots of fun activities as well as moments of musical challenge and inspiration. Your support funds our education efforts like Summer Jazz Camp, Jazz in the Schools Program, Next Generation Jazz Festival, Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo and Monterey County All-Star Ensembles to name a few.
