The motor controller failed on this Ryobi mower. I replaced it with an e-bike controller. I bought it on Amazon 1000 watts for about $34. The wires needed: Blue Yellow Green These go to the electric motor Red Black These are for you 40v from battery Small red (this is for your start switch), this needs to be at 40v to turn on controller Red Green Black Throttle control Red is +5v Black is gnd Green is sense If you connect red to green it will send 5v to controller but it will over rev motor and turn off For mine, I needed around 1.5 to 2.5 v , so I used a 10k pot. To get this to work, I had to start out with 0 v, then turn pot to desired rpm. 2700 for normal, and 3100 for high.
