Hundreds of doctors have taken their own lives in Australia in the past decade and their advocates argue mandatory reporting requirements are making the problem worse. Doctors’ groups say the fear of being reported as unfit for work has created a culture of silence around mental illness. State and Territory Governments have listened and plan to amend the laws but for many doctors the changes don't go far enough.
