The new regulations could take effect as early as the first quarter of 2026, and hope to mainly attract workers from the Philippines. Let’s hear more. Rex Hotelier We’re hoping to hire foreign workers because some Taiwanese people might not want to do these jobs. Allowing migrant workers to work in the hospitality industry is a positive change. Hsiao Ching-tien Taiwan Tourist Hotel Association When the industry opens up to intermediate skilled migrant workers, they will all have to undergo training for about six months. We’re of course in favor of opening up these jobs to foreign workers. The sector will open up jobs in housekeeping, cleaning, reception and food service, with salaries starting at NT$32,000. Applicants will be required to have the relevant language and technical skills. The Ministry of Labor will set up a contact window in the Philippines in Q1 of 2026.
