This method is an excellent way to save on storage when you need to use the same media but for different folders. The best examples that come to mind is mame classic wheels like the atari classics, capcom classics, etc. Another good example of creating symlinks is when you set up 3D NES since all the media will be the same as the NES wheel. If you delete the folder that has a link attached to it, it wont impact the original folder though. Note that also the folder you are trying to create a link for cannot exist, else you will get an error message stating so in the cmd prompt Step 3: open CMD by right clicking it and select run as admin Step 4: Paste in the paths above (replacing it with your drive,path) and press enter Step 5: If you are creating classic wheels, be sure to also nab my database folders from the emumovies ftp in my dojo folder. This way you'll have the classic xmls and the genres already populated. Once you have the database folder populated, dont forget to copy the mame.xml file under settings and duplicate it for each of your classics.
