⚡ Solo Wild Camping in a Storm | Yellow Weather Warning in the UK 🌧️ I went solo wild camping by a river during a yellow weather warning, battling heavy rain, strong winds, and a raging storm. This was one of the hardest wild camping adventures I’ve ever faced in the UK. The hike into the woodland was brutal. Rain poured down all day and night, the wind tore through the trees, and before long my so-called waterproofs had failed, leaving me completely soaked. When I finally reached the riverbank, the roar of the water was deafening under the storm. I was surrounded by sheep, which felt like strange company out in the wilderness, a reminder that I was truly alone but not completely isolated. Pitching my tent in those conditions was a battle in itself. The ground was wet, the wind was unforgiving, and every step of the process felt like a fight against the weather. Once the tent was finally up, I wasted no time getting inside and changing into dry clothes. Luckily, I had managed to keep all my gear inside my bag perfectly dry — a small victory that made all the difference. With camp secure, I cooked a warm dinner and listened to the storm rage on outside, grateful for at least a little comfort in the chaos. By morning, the storm has eased abit. My clothes from the day before were still damp, and putting them back on was one of the hardest parts of the journey. That’s the raw reality of wild camping in bad weather — soaked gear, restless nights, and the constant noise of rain and wind pounding down. Packing up camp in the rain was exhausting, but the weather gave me a short break. Still, the storm returned in full force as I got closer to the car. I was lucky to make it back when I did. ⚠️ Safety Reminder: If you plan on hiking or wild camping during storms or under a yellow rain and wind warning, always be prepared. Check the forecast, bring proper waterproofs and spare dry clothing, pick your camp spot carefully (avoid flooded ground and riverbanks), and let someone know your plans. Trips like these are rewarding, but they can also be dangerous — preparation is everything. Despite the challenges, this adventure reminded me why I love UK wild camping, solo camping, storm camping, hiking in bad weather, and off-grid adventures. The wilderness tests you, humbles you, and shows you beauty even in the harshest conditions. 📍 Location: Woodland by a River, UK 🍳 Camp Cooking in the Rain ✨ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞 ✨ 📧 𝙱𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜𝙸𝚗𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 & 𝙲𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜: [email protected] 📸 𝙸𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚖: / maella.99 🔔 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 & 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲: / @maella.99 ☕ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤: If you enjoy my content and would like to support my journey, you can buy me a coffee here: https://buymeacoffee.com/maella.99 💖 Every little bit helps me continue creating videos, improving my content, and sharing more of what I love.
