Demystifying JAM Understanding the Evolution of Polkadot towards JAM | sub0 reset 2024

This talk is the perfect prelude to anyone looking to understand the technical underpinnings behind the JAM graypaper (https://graypaper.com/). The following is a ground-up explanation of Polkadot 1.0, Polkadot 2.0, and how it will all evolve to JAM. It is targeted towards a technical audience, though more so those that are not very familiar with Polkadot, but have a good high level understanding of blockchain based systems, and are possibly familiar with one other ecosystem at a technical level. Kian Paimani Kian spent his entire teenage years dreaming of becoming a civil engineer, only to realize that his grades were not good enough to get into any of the top universities of his hometown Tehran (Iran) in civil engineering, so he settled for the next best thing at the time: Software Engineering. And in his words "oh boy, I am grateful for this twist of destiny". In 2017, he left Iran for a brighter future and to do a Master's degree in Amsterdam on Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems. In the middle of this degree, he started to get interested in blockchains as a novel form of distributed systems. Soon after, he joined Parity Technologies to work on Substrate, and later on Polkadot. His interest in this field has only ever increased since then. He's currently an Engineering Lead at Parity Technologies, a member of the Polkadot fellowship and working on "GrayMatter", as a JAM implementation team member. Enjoy this video?
