I Can't Help It is a determined and energetic indie pop theme with a fresh 80's influence. On top of the dance inducing rhythm is a melodic lead guitar and smooth vocals that transition effortlessly into a memorable falsetto line in the second half of the chorus. The lyrics explore the inevitability of defeat and self-doubt, and the necessity of overcoming that dark place we so often find ourselves in. The track sends off the listener with a soaring solo played on a handheld instrument called a stylophone (popularized by David Bowie) and a group chant that leaves the audience with a sense of triumph and victory.
