Why I didn't Hire a Tutor Sooner

I thought tutoring was simply more school for my child as opposed to structured literacy/Orton-Gillingham based instruction specifically for dyslexia. I was also listening to sales pitches for programs that would rewire the brain and thereby “cure” dyslexia and ADHD through diet, exercises, brain games, etc. These can be helpful but, in my experience, should not replace structured literacy.
