I’m so grateful to have experienced such an unforgettable day in the water. The waves ranged from waist to shoulder high, with a gentle offshore breeze grooming the faces to perfection. There was a right that peeled almost the full length of the break: an absolute gift of a wave! This session, together with the previous one I uploaded, has marked the biggest leap forward in my surfing so far. It feels like a genuine step change; I’m finally starting to lock in some proper intermediate techniques. Not just riding the wave, but actually surfing it. Getting into trim earlier has opened up everything: more time to read each wave, adjust my speed and direction, and really make the most of every section. I’m beginning to feel where the pocket is, then either straighten up, hold a high line or drive down the line to maintain speed. Even better, I got to share those sets with a few local legends. Everyone was finding great waves, and the stoke in the lineup was contagious...
