In Xray, the defect is the result of the SUM between all Defects associated with the TEST belonging to this Test Run plus the Defects created on the Test Run. If you create a Defect on a Test Run, this will also created a link between Test and Defect, so if you create a new Test Run you'll see at least 1 defect already on the #def count. In order to keep Test Runs' defects independent then after creating a defect to Test Run, remove the link from the Test. In this particular example: TEst 1 is executed by Test Execution 1 and Test Execution 2. Each Test Run has originated one bug. The #def count is of 2 because it has the specific bug created when executing the test, plus the other bug from the other execution (because it's linked to the test). When we remove the specific link between bug and test, we will get a #def = 1 because it has now only the specific defect created on each execution.
