We had a great day out driving to the Black Isle. A quick stop for some shopping in Inverness, then Dolphin spotting at Chanonry Point, camp site spotting at Rosemarkie and on to Cromarty, birth place of Hugh Miller, self-taught Scottish geologist and writer, folklorist and an evangelical Christian. Then the car broke down. The Black Isle is a peninsula in the Highlands of Scotland, located north of Inverness. Contrary to its name, the Black Isle is not an island.
