In 1942, a Japanese submarine shelled the Ellwood oil installations, making it one of the few attacks on the U.S. mainland during World War II! 🕰️💥 Next up: a dive into Goleta’s rich history at the Stow House and a peek at the Goleta Railroad Museum. Although the museum wasn’t open for rides (they do those on weekends 🚂), it was still so fun to check out the historic site and imagine the stories behind it.
