In this video I finally tackle that oil leak that has been coating my driveway and the undercarriage for a long time. With a few broken bolts and some unexpected changes along the way join me in my misery. Part 1 of 2 This is the Instagram stories that I downloaded to re-share on youtube. it may help someone solve similar problems. Or maybe just provide entertainment in my misery. The car has a OM642 diesel engine which is a direct injection engine. The oil seals are a common problem with them and when the oil leaks showed up i expected it. The mechanic more than doubled his initial quote when he saw the car and while I still kinda wanted someone else to do it. i don't like dishonest mechanics so i had to just do it myself. Even with the unexpected broken bolt it still cost me 1/3rd what the mechanic wanted and I found out a lot about the car in the process. Stop out to the shop anytime and see whats going on this week. I spend a lot of time out in the workshop and i am always fixing, scraping and recycling things to try to make this world a better place and keep the 'Do it yourself" spirit alive. I am a computer Network Engineer by profession but my parents and grand parents are Plumbers, engineers, and Teachers so I hope to pass the same Can_Do onto my kids, and maybe some people on youtube.
