There's a lot of strong colours in the image we're using, so we're first going to create an even colour tone by applying a Hue and Saturation Adjustment Layer. We'll start off by reducing the tones in the master tones. Then we'll move through the individual colour options to get that perfect desaturation on our image. Spend a lot of time on the Hue and Saturation to get the look just right. We then apply a Curves Adjustment Layer. We'll set anchor points for the highlights, the midtones and then another for the contrast. We're cautious not to take the contrast up too much. Our next step is to work on the Colour Balance, so we'll apply a Colour Balance Layer. We start off by working in the shadows and we adjust it by working with the different colour sliders. We then also move on over to the highlights. What's important to keep in mind is that the face should also get a blue tint to create a overall cooler effect. In out final step we apply a Selective Colour Adjustment Layer and we only work in the black tones. We adjust the different colour sliders to get the perfect look. the blacks are always good to get the perfect contrast. Note: You can always go back to your adjustment layers to tweak the effect.
