How to Get the Golden Scale - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Walkthrough

To get the Golden Scale you need to catch a lunker which is a fish that is at least 13 lbs, 6 kg, or 60cm depending your game's region. This can only be done as an adult (except for a glitch in the N64 version that allows you to get it as a child). Catching a lunker can be a real pain, but I think I found a good way to do it so I'll do my best to explain. The fish start off in set locations. The one you want is next to the pair of logs. Specifically the one floating above the log whose branch sticks out of the water the least. You want to walk slowly onto the same log as I do, but don't go farther than where I go because I find the lunker is much less likely to bite in that short of a distance. If you scare the fish by walking onto the log too fast or by throwing the lure too close it'll swim away, but if you don't move for about a minute it should come back. If it bites and you lose it, however, it'll stay in the deep end for roughly 10 minutes so you might choose to just leave the pond and pay to come back in to reset its location. Pay close attention to how I get the fish and hopefully you can catch it as soon as it bites. I was able to catch a lunker 3 times in less than 15 minutes like this so it seems to be reliable.
