Prime Minister Christopher Luxon left his finance minister, Nicola Willis, to bare the brunt of bad news on Thursday. She spoke to reporters at Parliament and then faced scrutiny from Opposition MPs during question time, after Stats NZ confirmed growth of -0.9% between April and June. That meant that for the past year, the economy shrunk by 1.1%. Luxon did his best to keep away from cameras following that bad news, but The Post found him last night at a $1500-a-head dinner. This morning, Luxon is set to speak to reporters at Auckland Airport. He is there with Air NZ, for an official opening of a new facility at the airport. Stuff will livestream his press conference, which is set to focus heavily on economic growth. It's set to start at around 9:45am.
