Taking the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric on a 400 Mile Roadtrip!

In this video we take the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric SEL on a nearly 400 mile roadtrip from the Quad Cities to the 2024 Chicago Auto Show. This trip included all forms of charging from Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Charging. The Kona Electric SEL has the larger of the two battery packs available at 64.8 kWh's and 261 miles of estimated range. The Kona Electric ended up with decent efficiency at 70-72 MPH but not class leading by any means. Charging remains a challenge with hit or miss DCFC results but overall the Kona Electric would make a great commuter vehicle in town or as a regional travel vehicle if it could be charged at work, home, or overnight on Level 2 equipment.
