#Shahbaddaiary #Delhicrime #Delhipolice #CCTV #RakeshJewellers A shocking incident that raises serious questions about law and order has come to light in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, where a jeweller was brutally attacked inside his shop after an argument escalated into violence. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has now become a crucial part of the police investigation. The incident took place on January 25, 2026, at around 6:15 PM at “Rakesh Jewellers”, located in the Shahbad Dairy locality. According to information, a young woman entered the jewellery shop posing as a customer and began looking at ornaments. The shop owner, Prakash Soni (25), was attending to her when a verbal argument broke out over some issue related to the purchase. The situation quickly turned tense. Witnesses said the woman appeared agitated and soon made a phone call. Within minutes, her boyfriend, identified as Sandeep Joon (30), arrived at the shop. As soon as he entered, he allegedly began abusing the shop owner and, in a fit of rage, slapped Prakash Soni. What followed next left everyone inside the shop terrified. According to CCTV footage, Sandeep Joon suddenly pulled out a pistol, causing panic among customers and staff. Before anyone could react, the accused struck Prakash Soni on the head with the butt of the pistol. The blow was so forceful that the shopkeeper collapsed on the floor, bleeding profusely from his head. Chaos erupted inside the shop as people screamed and rushed for safety. After carrying out the attack, the accused attempted to flee the scene. Meanwhile, someone from the area informed the police about the violent assault. At around 6:34 PM, Shahbad Dairy Police Station received information regarding the incident involving assault and use of a firearm. The police acted swiftly. A team was immediately dispatched to the spot, and due to prompt action by on-duty police staff, the accused was apprehended within 10 to 15 minutes in the nearby area. The pistol used in the attack was also recovered from his possession. Preliminary investigation revealed that the weapon was licensed; however, using it to threaten and assault someone in a public place constitutes a serious offence. The injured shopkeeper, Prakash Soni, was rushed to the hospital by locals even before the police arrived. Doctors confirmed that he had suffered a head injury but stated that his condition is stable and out of danger. Based on the victim’s statement, CCTV footage, and medical report, police registered a case under relevant sections related to assault and the Arms Act. The role of the woman involved is also under scrutiny, and police are examining whether the attack was spontaneous or pre-planned. The incident has sparked fear and anger among local traders, who have raised concerns about safety in the area. They have demanded stricter action against those who openly use weapons to settle personal disputes. Police officials have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and that strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining law and order in the area.
