Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant and local shows host Ashley Colburn all the Honolulu hot spots, beginning at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel & Resort, a Starwood Property, which offers guests everything they might need during their stay. There's an adults-only infinity edge pool, a full-fledged water wonderland called Helumoa Playground, and six different food offerings, including RumFire and the culturally inspired Kai Market. At the Leahi Club Lounge on the 30th floor, guests can have a cocktail and gaze over Waikiki all the way to gorgeous Diamond Head volcanic cone. Next, Ashley gets an insider’s perspective about Hawaiian cuisine with our friend and local celebrity chef, Chai Chaowasaree. Chef Chai takes us on a food tour that included Liliha Bakery, Helena’s Hawaiian Food, and his own restaurant, Chef Chai. With so many different cultures in one place, there is a need for diversity; you are sure to find what you are looking for! The Honolulu Fish Auction is much like the world famous Tokyo Fish Auction and is very cool to see in person. Organize a tour through the Hawaiian Seafood Council to get a glimpse of all the different types of fish and experience the fast-paced auction. Next up is the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, founded by Charles Reed Bishop. The museum encompasses a natural science and cultural history of the islands. This is the place to go if you are interested in theories about where the Hawaiian people originated and the Hawaiian culture! In O'ahu's Kaneohe Bay, visitors can spend the day out on the Kaneohe Sandbar, where the water never gets any deeper than one’s hips. People pack their boat with coolers and chairs, anchor near the sandbar, and off-load for a fun day out on the water. Near Kaneohe is the city of Kailua, a great place for boutique shopping! For late night fun, check out Honolulu's new and improved Chinatown! It’s cool and hip with up-and-coming restaurants and bars. Ashley met with Lucky Belly chef and co-owner, Dusty Grable, to learn about his restaurant and sample some delicious dishes before heading to The Manifest for drinks. Master mixologist Justin Park makes a mean cocktail and does it with flair! Read more: http://www.jetsetextra.com/destinatio...
