Hey, can I get some feedback from you guys? Shouldn't take long, I'm just doing that thing where I fret over nothing. Alright, confession time. Minor spoilers, there's a boss coming up that ends badly on the recorded run, though I luckily still have Backup Memories, so I can retry it. This is the same boss that routinely stonewalls me at this point in the game. So, in the interest of not letting her stall this project out, as happened to LC a few times, I bit the bullet and indulged in some save scumming to give myself a few "free" practice runs against the boss. These were not recorded, nor were they intended to progress with the game - the only purpose was let me work out a strategy for handling the fight. This seemed like a really good idea at the time, of course, but it's still cheating and it bothers me. So, the part of my brain that hates using anything that gives me an unfair advantage thinks this run is invalidated, and I should start a new file and only begin recording again once I catch back up to where I am now, same as if I died with no backups. The other part of my brain thinks this is silly, since I wasn't cheating to directly progress in the game, and it's not like starting over will remove what I learned on those practice runs, anyways. So I'm putting the question to you, fine ladies and gents of the internet. Does anyone mind if I continue on the current run, or should I scrap it and start over? I'd appreciate a comment letting me know your thoughts. Worth noting, I wouldn't intend to wipe any of the existing videos or begin uploading with stage 1 again, even if I restart. I'd simply the treat the already-recorded game over as absolute and continue with how I already planned to handle that situation. That wound up being more text than I wanted it to be.
