Not the most exciting trail due to the centerpiece, the riparian habitat in the center along a small stream, being fenced off for conservation purposes. The trail forms a loose ring around the riparian habitat. Most of the animals choose to avoid the hot dry terrain along the trail, despite the dearth of hikers here. Nevertheless I noticed some camera worthy things, such as the eggs of some unknown insect laid all over one of the weed species, which looked as if that one plant species had be spray-painted by the park conservation rangers as either an invasive species or a protected species. On the North side of the trail I discovered many snail colonies that completely plastered the leaves of at least two different plant species and even a rusty old signpost. At one point a juvenile rabbit and a juvenile squirrel ran across the trail in front of me in lockstep since they had no cover to hide under, but there was no way I could react that fast to obtain that footage.
