But the mental load of work, parenting, friendships, seeing family, keeping the schedule, working out, looking well, doing the groceries, making sure everything and everyone is taken care of is taking its toll on all of us. And as you can see, there are some key signs of burnout and the psychological and physical symptoms that show up - because of the deep psychological, emotional and physical exhaustion you’re feeling. I acknowledge the fact that societal pressure and the cost of living absolutely play a part in why so many of us are burning out… But other factors that also play a part? workplace psychosocial risk and safety - ie how much does your workplace rules and culture effect you? 📅📥 relationship burnout, when your relationship isn’t working and instead of your partner co-regulating you, they are co-DYSregulating you. 💥💔 parenting burnout, when the mental load of all the things you have to remember, and schedule, and work around plus keep track alongside your work, your health and your life are all too much. but also - how long you’ve been ignoring your stress and anxiety symptoms, maybe because of people pleasing? Never saying no? Maybe because you feel like the wheels will fall off if you stop? Maybe because rest feels awkward, uncomfortable or even lazy? This is why working with a therapist like a psychologist, social worker or counsellor can be so important, because we can help you unpack all of it - and work on finding what you truly want out of life, and what would actually heal your nervous system and bring you joy again.
