Mohawk to Bolt to Thunder is a ski run of varying difficulties located at Berkshire East Mountain Resort. The trails run from the summit of the ski area down to the base area. The run begins to the slight skier's right of the top of the T-Bar Express Quad on Mohawk, an intermediate trail that runs along the eastern ridge of the mountain. Eventually, the run turns off of Mohawk to the right onto Bolt, a short intermediate trail that features a small drop before merging onto Thunder, a beginner trail. Thunder gently runs along the eastern edge of the resort, passing underneath the bottom of the mountain coaster before arriving back at the base area. Berkshire East Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in Charlemont, Massachusetts. The ski area is situated right off of State Route 2 in the northern Berkshire Mountains in Western Franklin county. The ski area is located about an hour drive north of Springfield and about a 2-hour 15-minute drive west of Boston. With just under 200 acres of skiing, Berkshire East is the second-largest ski area in Massachusetts in terms of skiable area and with a vertical of 1,200 feet, it is the tallest ski area in the state. The ski area is known for its small, local, and family-friendly vibe, providing a large variety of mostly groomed terrain for all skill levels from the same peak. The resort also has tubing in the winter and a large bike park, ziplines, and one of the best mountain coasters I've ever ridden in the summer. The ski resort is family-owned, owned by the same family that also owns Catamount, which is also located partially in Massachusetts, with the rest being located in New York. The resort is an Indy Pass member, granting pass holders two days at the resort.
