Extended length video from Dec. 22, 2024, of the full run from Lower Trout Creek through the Upper Wind near Carson, Washington, flowing at 6.5' on the gauge at Stabler (link below). This is a perfect level for people learning this run as Lower Trout has enough water to be fun but the Upper Wind is still a comfortable class IV. Put the two together and you get a variety of continuous and ledge-style rapids in different water conditions. It's a great workout, one of the funnest rain-fed runs in the Columbia Gorge, and a fantastic training ground for the nearby Farmlands, Truss, and more. We both paddled our Scorch Xs and agreed they were right at home in the big water of the Upper Wind while still being maneuverable enough to smoothly navigate the more technical sections of Lower Trout.
