RUNAWAY PART 4 - Reubyn Ash Surf School, Widemouth bay, Bude, Cornwall, Surfing in Portugal

Hello and welcome to the 4th part of my series Runaway. Last year I did a proper road trip in Europe. I lived in a van with my girlfriend for almost two months in France, Spain and Portugal and will be making separate little movies from each of these countries. I decided to head to Portugal for couple of weeks with my friend Nic von Rupp , whose with I did a trip to Chile in the earlier part of the year. Nic was also filming for his "My Road" project with a great surfer Maxime Huscenot, so we decided to travel together and check the best surfing spots from north to middle Portugal. We didn’t really stay anywhere more than two nights on this road trip, because waves were quite small almost everywhere. We checked the beaches around Figueira da Foz, Sines, Nazare and Peniche. It wasn’t as hectic hunting the waves like in Chile, but still we were getting a little desperate in some point of driving around without finding anything decent. Luckily, the forecasts finally started looking better for the south. I think I had the most fun surfs around Peniche. We found a good right sand bank that was really fun. Most of the waves of this episode have been filmed from around there. All in all this trip was good fun. Portugal has always been one of my favorite places in Europe. It was also great to travel with such talented surfers like Nic and Maxime because they’re pushing you to try things harder and bigger. What can I say more? Portugal is full of great beaches, waves, old cities and towns and good looking people. I’m looking forward to get there again. I hope you enjoy my little episode.
