Super Typhoon Fung-Wong slammed into the country's northeastern coast Saturday, forcing more than a million people to flee their homes. Despite Prime Minister Carney's friendlier tone with the oil and gas sector, this year's federal budget appears to offer a boost to an ambitious proposal for generating offshore wind power off the coast of Nova Scotia. Even more air travellers could see their flights to or around the U.S. delayed or cancelled as Washington's government shutdown drags on. As Candice Cole reports, the shutdown is expected to get worse and could also impact critical supply chains ahead of the busy holiday shopping season. Plus, this week will mark the first Remembrance Day without Gordon, or Gordie, Quan, who had long been recognized as Canada's last living Chinese veteran of the Second World War.
