Time to blast off into the cosmic side of the MCU! This is the Marvel movie that introduced the world to Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. Directed by James Gunn, this fan-favorite took an obscure team of misfits and turned them into one of the MCU’s most beloved families. Released in 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy follows Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), a scavenger who stumbles upon a mysterious orb wanted by the villainous Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace). To survive, Quill reluctantly teams up with a band of misfits: the deadly assassin Gamora (Zoe Saldana), the vengeful warrior Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), the gun-toting raccoon Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), and the lovable tree-like creature Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). Together, this unlikely team discovers that the orb contains the Power Stone, one of the Infinity Stones that could change the fate of the galaxy. Despite their differences, they must band together to protect the universe from Ronan’s wrath and in doing so, form an unbreakable bond as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
